North American Pretzel and Snack Equipment Sales Manager
Reading Bakery Systems (RBS) is looking for a North American Pretzel & Snack Equipment Sales Manager. This position is responsible for the business development, sales, and customer relationship activities for the pretzel and snack segment of RBS.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, the sales person travels throughout the United States and Canada calling on existing and prospective customers to create and maintain relationships, and solicit orders for equipment and services offered by RBS.
The sales person will manage existing customer relationships; build relationships with new prospective customers; respond to all incoming leads; work with the Technical Sales Director and Engineering Department to address feasibility of customer requests and needs; participate in the quotation development process; and attend industry events as a representative of the Company.
Field Service Technicians - Mechanics
Robesonia, PA & Indianapolis, IN
We are looking for highly-skilled individuals based in our Robesonia, PA and Indianapolis, IN facilities to install bakery equipment and provide electrical/mechanical equipment repair services to our customers, worldwide. Our field service technicians travel extensively — domestically and internationally. They should be proficient in mechanical and industrial electrical maintenance, Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting and experience with AC drives. Experience in cookie, cracker, pretzel and other baked snack equipment is a plus.
First & Second Shift Machinists
We are looking for First and Second Shift Machinists in our Robesonia, PA facility who are experienced in producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC, lathes, and mills. Machinists must be able to handle multiple responsibilities including: reading blueprints and specifications, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances. Machinists must be capable of maintaining continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating.
We are seeking candidates who have a minimum of 2 — 4 years of Welding experience to work in our Oven Works facility.
Qualified candidates must have the ability to interpret engineering assembly drawings and bills of materials to identify welded components to be produced and assembled, their mating parts and their function within the machine.
Applies MIG, TIG, spot and other applicable welding techniques to fuse similar and dissimilar metals by selecting and employing the most appropriate filler materials. Selects the appropriate gauge thickness of sheet metal to meet design specifications.
Excellent welding skills, good communication, organizational skills and the willingness to work in a team environment are essential.
We have a unique opportunity for a high-energy individual to join our purchasing team. We are looking for a person who is experienced in planning and procurement in a manufacturing environment. The person must be able to handle multiple responsibilities; plan and procure materials; aggressively seek opportunities to reduce cost and develop supplier relations.
The successful candidate will have at least two years planning and procurement experience in a manufacturing environment and be familiar with machined, fabricated and sheet metal components. The candidate should also possess sound knowledge of purchasing practices and principles and have strong analytical and organizational skills. Strong working knowledge and experience with CAD Systems is a plus. Must be aggressive & organized, ISM – CPM, or APICS certification, a plus – but not necessary.
Purchasing experience is not required, but is certainly helpful. If you are responsible, decisive and a fast learner, you can quickly develop into a full-fledged Buyer at RBS. An Associate Buyer must be a self-starting, confident, smart, detail-oriented individual.

Our Indianapolis, IN facility, is seeking a Project Manager to manage the execution and delivery of our customers' Bakery Equipment and Machinery Projects for the Snack Food Industry. The project manager will coordinate multiple teams that are involved in designing, manufacturing and servicing our customers' equipment. Responsibilities include developing schedules, managing budgets, defining requirements and managing all projects, all the while providing top-notch customer service to our customers and internal partners. A 4-year Bachelor's degree is required. Engineering Discipline is preferred.
Assembly Technician, Reading Thermal
Sinking Spring, PA
Under the general direction of the General Manager of Reading Thermal and the direct guidance of RT Lab Supervisor, the RT Assembly Technician will assemble SCORPION® Data Logging Measurement System, which includes Temperature, Air Velocity, Heat Flux, Humidity Sensors, Data Logger, and Battery Charger.
These sensors are designed to measure product level environmental conditions in commercial processing ovens, dryers, cooling tunnels, and freezers, delivering a true representation of what the product experiences over time.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs a variety of machine and hand operations related to the assembly of sensors and sensor arrays, including mating components, fitting parts and verifying that parts move as required by the design.
- Maintains quality by inspecting parts during the assembly operation using measuring devices, meters, and gauges to ensure manufacturing consistency to required specifications.
- Use hand and power tools to assemble / machine parts.
- Adjusts machine elements during assembly to maintain proper operating parameters and accuracy in accordance to specifications.
- Cleans equipment and work area as necessary.
- Completes and maintains required production and quality control records and logs in accordance with Company production standards.
- Provide feedback to co-workers, supervisor, and company management on a regular basis to ensure efficient and effective assembly operations.
- Participate and adhere to Company policies and programs on occupational health and safety, and operations.

Reading Bakery Systems is looking for experienced machinery assemblers in our Thomas L Green facility in Indianapolis to interpret engineering drawings, organize component parts and subassemblies. This person also works with engineering and manufacturing management to ensure the functionality of the machine through the assembly process, and perform a variety of hand and machine-assisted functions necessary to assemble industrial bakery equipment.
Parts Team Web Portal Coordinator
RBS is searching for a Parts Team Web Portal Coordinator at our Indianapolis, Indiana facility, who will publish 3D interactive machinery models to our web portal catalog to enable customers to select needed spare parts, review motion/animation based operation manuals, and download schematics and technical documents which support their large scale production lines. The person in this position will use sophisticated software to apply creative graphic design and technical writing skills. The responsibilities also include providing support for a fast-paced parts sales team and additional duties, including web portal customer order processing support, customer phone interaction and follow up, assistance with marketing efforts, and other general office functions.
We are looking for Mechanical Designers who can design bakery equipment using SolidEdge, a three-dimensional computer-aided design package (CAD) to evaluate form, fit, and function of electronic models and electronic prototypes.
The responsibilities in this position include:
- Create layouts of customer plants to evaluate the process flow and equipment size and placement.
- Modify existing designs to provide equipment enhancement to satisfy customer requests.
- Ensure drawings are completed to the required engineering and manufacturing standards.
- Ensure Bills of Materials have a complete list of drawing numbers for manufactured parts and a complete list of purchased components that accurately correlate Reading Bakery Systems part numbers to vendor part numbers.
Minimum requirements include:
- An Associate’s or Technical Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field - preferred
- 3+ years in a machinery design role is necessary
- Minimum of two to three years demonstrated design/drafting experience in a high-tech, CAD, precision engineering and/or manufacturing environment
Entry-Level Mechanical Designers
RBS is also looking for entry-level mechanical designers who are recent college graduates with a good GPA, good work ethics, and eager to learn our industry.
We are looking for Automation Engineers/Designers who design control systems to operate Reading Bakery Systems’ machinery. Duties include specifying the components and equipment needed to complete the system, programming and interfacing of the equipment, assist/troubleshoot the assembly process and startup/debug of the control system and overall machine. The position also requires implementation of material and cost reduction measures as well as documentation of the operating process. The RBS Automation Engineers interface with Reading Bakery Systems sales department, manufacturing, service, as well as customers to support the equipment and engineering efforts. He/She will travel onsite to customer locations to implement, maintain, and upgrade software/hardware.
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience programming PLCs and minimum of 2 years experience with Rockwell PLCs
- Siemens experience is a plus
- Knowledge and experience with variable frequency drives and servo drives
Reading Bakery Systems is searching for a Shipping/Receiving Clerk to assist the Department coordinator with all Shipping and Receiving functions. Responsibilities include maintaining records of the company’s warehouse, and inventory control functions, generating shipping orders, maintaining vendor data based on quality, timely delivery and cost. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will also assist the Quality Control Department with quality standards by assisting in approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; as well as records quality results.
